|A picture of Paladin, Ronin and Freelance Mercenary, my current fursona, drawn by darkstar07 Leon.|
There are a lot of differences between this current version and the last one. Mostly, the addition of the trenchcoat, which was something I came to love. I actually like the idea of a trenchoat flowing about in battle, though in real life it would really be a burden.
The hairstyle was Leon's idea. While you can't see Paladin's ponytail at the back, you can see one of his eyes being obscured by his fringe, which I thank Leon for adding. He said that it gave Paladin a slightly angsty villain-like quality, which is what I was also going for, since Paladin is a mercenary who would work for almost anyone for the right price. The general style of the hair is also a good change, with it looking unkempt and wind-blown.
The six-bullet .357 revolver was a recent addition. When I played Fallout: New Vegas, I kind of started liking more American Western-style weapons, and I grew to love the .357 in the game, and I asked for Leon to draw that on, replacing the 9mm in the last picture. The shotgun, however, is the same.
The main feature is the katana, however. With Paladin being a Ronin (Japanese, meaning "Wave Man" or in this case "Masterless Samurai") I wanted him to have a Japanese weapon and I really like katanas.
Of course, I did keep a few things from the last drawing. The goggles on his forehead, the mashed iron paldroun and the worn breeches.
